I offer personalized guitar lessons in Chicago, tailored to each student's learning style and goals. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, I can help you improve your skills and take your playing to the next level.
Learning an instrument is a challenge, but the process should be fun. Every student learns the fundamentals while playing working on the music that speaks to them.
Students learn at the pace that is comfortable for them in a fun, supportive, and patient environment.
Guitar lessons should be fun, which is why I tailor the lessons to the student's interests. If you're interested in a certain artist or genre of music, we jump right into that music and see where you're at, and how to help you with your goals.
I travel to student's homes in Chicago for lessons, which makes scheduling flexible and convenient. I also teach online using Zoom. While there's no long-term commitment, the majority of my students have been taking lessons for years.
The majority of my students are kids, but I also teach adults. I'm totally comfortable teaching advanced students, but I've also developed an effective way to help beginners make fast progress, by avoiding common pitfalls.

Every spring my students get the opportunity to play in a student recital at a venue in Lincoln Park. It's a great way for students to have fun and show what they're working on in a fun, supportive environment.

While this video was made for classical guitar players, I teach all styles of music. My classical training is an asset that lets me present songs and musical concepts clearly to my students. Even if you're not planning on learning classical guitar, you'll get a lot out of lessons.
Students make more progress when they are playing music that interests them. Early in my teaching career, I noticed that students learned at least 30% faster when we stopped using an old-fashioned method book, and started playing real songs right from the beginning.
Whether I'm working with a student on Zoom, at their home, or in my home in Chicago, the goal is to help them improve as quickly as possible.
My method helps you play naturally, without wasting months on technique. Every lesson is tailored to the student and their unique needs, always in a fun, patient environment.
